Ultimate Package Rated Tops in Accuracy
Draft Analyzer Ultimate Rankings rated #2 in Accuracy over the past two NFL seasons!
The NYTimes Fifth Down Blog publishes a Fantasy Football accuracy contest after each NFL season. The Draft Analyzer Ultimate Player Rankings were rated as the 4th most accurate source in 2009 and the 10th most accurate source in 2010. To put that success in perspective, only ProFootballWeekly has been more accurate than the Ultimate rankings over the past two NFL seasons.
Wisdom of the Crowds Proves True with Ultimate Rankings in 2009 and 2010
The Ultimate rankings benefit from the wisdom of the crowds
theory that states the average predictions of a group of people
will tend to be more accurate than any individual prediction.
This has proven true over the past two seasons as the Ultimate
package outperformed each of the individual sources that make
up the Ultimate package. Pretty incredible!
In addition to benefiting
from the wisdom of the crowds theory, the Ultimate rankings
provide projections for more statistical categories (not every
source includes the same projected stat categories) and more
players (not all sources provide projections for the identical
list of players) so you get a more robust and more accurate
set of player rankings than you would get from any individual
source.
Ultimate Rankings Getting More Accurate for 2011
The Draft Analyzer Ultimate player rankings are created using
the average projections from Accuscore, ESPN, FantasyGuru, FantasySharks
and RotoWire. Prior to this season, we included Fanball in our Ultimate rankings. FantasySharks was rated 15th overall out of 50 experts in 2010 (Fanball did not rank in the top 15 in 2009 or 2010).
